City of Melbourne providing dumpsters at Lipscomb Community Center to help residents with neighborhood cleanup
From May 3 through June 4, the City of Melbourne will be temporarily placing three dumpsters at the Lipscomb Community Center Parking Lot (3400 Monroe Street) that residents may use to dispose of large items, such as damaged fencing and pressure treated wood, miscellaneous household items (including furniture), and old tires.
This is part of an annual effort to prevent dumping along the side of the roadways in Melbourne’s neighborhoods and to offer local residents a convenient way to dispose of large items that are not picked up as part of their regular waste collection service.
This program is for the exclusive use of City of Melbourne residential properties and residents only. Businesses and/or contractors may not use these dumpsters.
Residents are asked to place items inside the dumpsters – not on the ground – and to only do so during daylight hours. The dumpsters will be emptied and replaced regularly between May 3 and June 4.
Many thanks to Waste Management for providing the dumpsters free of charge and to Brevard County for waiving fees at the landfill. Because of their sponsorship of this program, the City of Melbourne is able to offer this service free of charge.
