Meet Circuit Judge Candidate Sam Bookhardt
My name is Sam Bookhardt. I am a candidate for Circuit Judge, 18th Judicial Circuit, Group 25. I was born and raised in Titusville, Brevard County. I have ten siblings and our parents celebrated 65 years of marriage in January.
My wife Sandra and I have been married for over 32 years. We have three children and one grandchild.
After I graduated from Titusville High School, I enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. I received the Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachute Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon and was Honorably Discharged.
I graduated from Brevard Community College, University of Central Florida and Stetson University College of Law. I worked as an Assistant State Attorney where I prosecuted individuals charged with misdemeanors and serious felonies.
I worked for a big local law firm where I represented hospitals, insurance companies, financial institutions, construction companies and individuals who were charged with misdemeanors and serious felonies.
I have served as President of the Brevard County Bar Association (2010 -2011); Chairman of A.Max Brewer Memorial Law Library (2004 – 2010); Greater Titusville Renaissance, Board of Directors (2015 -2017), Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, Board of Directors (2011 –2012); Crosswinds Youth Services, Board of Directors (2007 – 2010) and the Titusville Police Athletic League, Board of Directors (2001 -2003).
I currently operate my own law firm and I practice both civil and criminal law.
