As for the cameras, we should have them everywhere. If you are obeying the laws, you have nothing to fear. If you can’t afford a $100 ticket, don’t speed in the school zone. When did we get excused for disobeying the law. This country is getting too soft when it comes to people making up the rules. Follow the laws people.

The fact that the law is now being enforced by cameras and tickets are being issued to registered vehicle owners and not necessarily the individual in control of the vehicle is going to cost the city a lot more in court costs then it is by issuing $100 dollar tickets. I myself have received a $100 dollar ticket. I have fortunately never been pulled over before because I do my best to monitor posted traffic signs. However, the area of the ticket was issued was at 12:30 in the afternoon when school was in session and no school zone flashing lights were on. Additionally, my wife was rushing to the emergency room doctor with our infant son having an allergic reaction to an unfortunate bee sting. In the event a law enforcement officer had pulled over my spouse it’s likely they would have assisted the situation and not issued a ticket but in this case, the camera photographed the vehicle on its way to the emergency room. Was it right to speed? No. Was there a situation that called for it? Yes. And before anyone says you should have called an ambulance, 911 informed us to get to the nearest hospital as soon as possible. So, there’s that.
