PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay Parks and Recreation Department is launching a new Adopt-A-Park Program. By participating in the program, civic-minded volunteers from local organizations, school groups, homeowner’s associations, Scouts, and other community-based groups can partner with the Palm Bay Parks and Recreation Department to help keep the City’s parks maintained for the community to enjoy.
Adopt-A-Park groups will have the opportunity to select a park and will commit to hold a minimum of 12 clean-up events per year; approximately one time per month. Signs will be installed at all adopted parks displaying the name of the “parent” group.
Participants may perform duties including picking up litter and light landscaping. Participants in the Adopt-A-Park Program must be 10 years of age or older. One adult supervisor will be required for every five youth participants between the ages of 10 and 17 years old. Each group will also agree to only allow such persons to participate who are determined to be responsible enough to safely participate in program activities.
Groups must submit an application for their chosen park. Parks will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
